Our Preschool accepts up to 16 three and four year old students per year. The three year olds attend Mon - Tues from 9:00 to 11:30 AM. The four year olds attend Mon-Wed 9:00 to 11:30 AM.
Our program is licensed by the state of Iowa and our teachers have over 20 years combined experience working with young children
Daily activities are designed to give children the skills they will need to comfortably make the transition to Kindergarten. Along with letters, numbers, shapes and colors, the children also learn basic skills of cooperation such as standing in line, taking turns and manners. Activities throughout the day help the children improve both large muscle skill and small muscle coordination. Religion is also an important part of our program with a daily Bible story.
Our day begins with circle time where we talk about the day of the week, the letter of the day, say a prayer and the pledge of allegiance. Next is active play where the children participate in organized game that include physical activity. Then comes the Bible story followed by the craft for the day. Snacks follow. Next up is library time when the children by read one of the books in our large collection or ask one of the teachers to read a story to them. Finally there is open play when the children may choose to play with the many toys and games we have or dress up in costumes and pretend. The very last thing we do before going home is to cooperate in picking up the toys and listening as one of the children shows something they brought for show and tell.
At the end of each day we take a few minutes to tell the parents what the children did that day so that Mom and Dad can be part of the preschool experience.
Throughout the year we also have holiday parties, field trips and programs at which parent involvement is greatly appreciated.
If you would be interested in enrolling your child for preschool please call the office at (641)684-7279 and we will be happy to send you a registration form.

NEWS: We all had a great time during our Christmas break this year. When we came back we found out that Mrs. Roach had bought some new toys for us to play with. We got some new trucks and tractors, some dinosaurs, horses and accessories, pots and pans and food and even some new dress up gloves!
We decorated paper hats for our snowmen, which are decorating our walls downstairs. We also made our own pizzas from scratch and ate them for our snack. One day we filled a pitcher with snow and measured how deep it was with a ruler. Then we tried to guess how many inches of water would be left after the snow melted. A few of us guessed it pretty close.
Have you ever made an ice sculpture? We did, by freezing a block of ice and putting lots of salt on the top and then some food coloring on top of that. When the salt melts the ice, the food coloring runs down the sides and into cracks in the middle. It looked really cool!
We learned that orange juice is made by squeezing oranges. We had to squeeze pretty hard to get all of the juice out. We decided that it tasted good but it’s easier to buy it from the store. When we made the juice we cut the oranges in half then used the leftover peels to make bird feeders by adding string and peanut butter and hanging them outside.
We were very sorry to learn that we will be losing one of our students. His dad has been stationed in Iraq and will be going back to Hawaii soon so he and his family will be moving there. We will miss him very much.
